The’re quite a few knowledgeable people in the synth DIY community. Some of them even share their secrets by putting them out on the internet for free. These resources are invaluable gems for newcomers and veterans alike.
A great thing about people connecting through the internet is the opportunity for sharing knowledge and ideas. Furthermore, it’s a place for an easily accessible worldwide community of enthusiasts.
Interesting Synth DIY sites
The list below is a work in progress. So I will add to it, whenever I come across a site with interesting DIY designs, schematics, tutorials, PCB’s, and/or concepts.
- Electro-Music DIY Hardware and Software ForumOne of the best forums out there for synth DIY questions and answers. All the usual suspects are there. So if you have questions regarding designs by Fonik, Jürgen Haible, Rob Hordijk, Ken Stone, Thomas Henry, YuSynth, and others. It’s all there.
- Ken Stone’s Modular SynthesizerThere seems no limit to what Ken Stone gives to the DIY community. A large amount of module designs of his Catgirl Synth are available on his site for us to build and learn from.
- YusynthYves Usson shares the schematics of the modules he adds to his ever growing modular synth project called yusynth #000. A beautiful collection of signal processors, modifiers and generators, tools. And some very nice filter designs.
- Castle Rocktronics/strong>Lunetta DIY circuits crafted into modules for your Eurorack system. Schematics made available for free by Kieran.
